Salterns Alliss Merlo Pro Celebrity Golf Day.

The Alliss Merlo Golf Tournament has been run for the past 22 years at the Ferndown Golf Club in Dorset. During that time some £694,000 has been raised and distributed  towards powered wheelchairs for disabled children and local charities. Mr John Isles, owner of Merlo UK, who started the event has decided to step down but remain as Patron. Mr John Smith of Salterns Marina, Poole, Dorset has therefore taken over the mantle and in future the event will be known as the Salterns Alliss Merlo Pro Celebrity Golf Day.

It has also been decided that Salterns Alliss Merlo, while remaining autonomous, will work through and under the auspices of the Peter Alliss Masters Golfing Society which, as a registered charity, can offer the newly named event's charitable activities important benefits and the required legal status. It is anticipated that in future years several supporters of the Saltern Alliss Merlo tournament will also be participants in the annual Peter Alliss Masters Golf tournament.
Mrs Joy Stevens
(15th July 2009)

The charity is grateful for a number of donations made by the friends and family in memory of Mrs Joy Stevens who sadly passed away recently. Joy was an Honorary Member of Chestfield Golf Club in Kent, a club that was involved in the Peter Alliss Masters from the very early days.

Website gets a makeover
(1st August 2009)

The Peter Alliss Masters website has received a makeover. It is 3 years since the original site was launched so it was time for a few changes. Although most have been only cosmetic, it is hoped that users will find it easier to navigate around the site and find what they are looking for more readily. Further changes will be ongoing as new photographs are received. If you have any suggestions for what you would like to see included, or have any news items from wheelchair events in your club, then please send them to the Webmaster (details on the Contacts page).

Ramada Jarvis Hotels sponsor the charity
(21st December 2009)

We are pleased to announce that Ramada Jarvis Hotels have kindly agreed to sponsor the charity by providing meeting rooms free of charge for our regular committee meeetings that for the last two years have been held at their hotel in Wetherby. They will also provide a suitable room for our Annual General Meeting which will be held this summer, on a date to be announced, at the Ramada Jarvis in Nottingham. We are very grateful for their support as it enables us to continue to keep the costs of running the charity at an absolute minimum.
