Forty five teams mainly from Northern Ireland competed, on 29th June, in the second Hugh Campbell Classic at the Slieve Russell Golf & Country Club, County Cavan in Ireland. Although it had been very wet the day before, conditions on the day were fine and dry allowing for some keenly fought golf on the superb Slieve Russell championship course. In the evening everyone came along to a gala dinner at which eight chairs were presented to children from both sides of the border. There then followed a raffle and an auction of a wide range of items donated by supporters of the wheelchair crusade. Hugh offered his thanks to all the donors and sponsors, particularly the Ulster Bank, whose generous donations and sponsorship throughout the event had made it so successful. In all, the entrance fees to the golf event together with the proceeds of the raffle and the auction raised a staggering £81,000 pounds!
